The Standards Mastery—School Network/School Report shows you the levels of domain mastery that all students in a school or school network have achieved in relation to the English National Curriculum. It can also show you comparisons between current and projected end-of-year mastery levels.
How do I get to this page?
- Log in to Renaissance.
- On the Home page, select Reports; in the drop-down list, select Administrator. (Note: If you would normally only have access to administrator reports, there will be no drop-down list; selecting Reports will take you directly to the Administrator tab.)
- On the Administrator tab, under "Growth & Mastery," select Standards Mastery—School Network/School Report.
Who can do this with default user permissions?
School Network Level Administrators, School Network Dashboard Owners, School Network Staff, School Level Administrators, School Staff
- Use the Subject drop-down list to select the subject for the report: Reading or Maths.
- Use the Assessment Types drop-down list to narrow down the type of assessments you want to include in the report. The options available will change depending on the chosen subject:
Subject Available Assessment Type Reading Star Reading Enterprise Reading Star Early Literacy Maths Star Maths Enterprise - Use the School drop-down list to select the school you want to create the report for, and select a year from the Year drop-down list.
- You can only create the report for one school and one year at a time.
- School level administrators, school staff, and teachers can only select one of their own schools.
- If you only have access to a single school, you will not need to make a selection (the School drop-down list will not be shown in this case).
-
If you want to use demographic data to further refine the data in the report, select Choose Demographics...
By default, the "All" option is chosen for Ethnicity, Gender, Language, and Year Level. To reduce the scope, choose the "Select" option at the top of the appropriate column and then tick your selections in that column.
In the example above, the user has selected two Languages and three Year Levels, while leaving Ethnicity and Gender at the default "All" options. Note: The Filter Reports by Ethnicity user permission may be set to prevent the use of ethnicities as a filter.By default, the "All" option is chosen for Characteristics. To reduce the scope, choose Select Characteristics... and then tick each characteristic you want students in the report to have. You must also choose any or all (after "Include students with") to specify whether students with any of the selected characteristics will be included in the report or only those with all of the selected characteristics.
Once you are finished choosing demographic options, select Apply at the bottom of the window to save your choices (or Cancel to close the window without saving your choices).
In the example above, the user selected two Characteristics (Children from Service Families and EAL Competent). Because any is selected, the report will include students who are Children from Service Families, EAL Competent, or both. If all had been selected, only students who are both Children from Service Families and EAL Competent would be included. Note: The Filter Reports by Characteristics user permission may be set to prevent the use of characteristics as a filter. - Use the For Selected and Show List of drop-down lists to determine how the data in the report should be arranged. Tick Hide Sections Without Data if you want to omit sections of the report that have no data in them.
For some customers in larger school districts, the options in the For Selected and Show List of drop-down lists are limited to the following:
For Selected Show List of School Network Schools School Network Standards Schools Teachers Schools Standards - Select one of the display options available:
- Current Mastery: Shows an estimate of mastery based on the most recent assessments and assignments.
- Current vs. Projected Mastery (End of School Year): Shows both current mastery and estimated levels of mastery for the end of the school year. Research shows that at least 50% of students should achieve the level of growth shown by the end of the school year.
For some customers in larger school networks, the option to choose between current mastery or current vs. projected mastery is not available; only current mastery can be shown for those customers.
- Select Update Report.
- The report will generate and then open at the bottom of the page.
The number of option combinations makes it impractical to try to show examples of every possible output for this report. Instead, two examples are shown below, using the following options and differing only in the Display Options selected.

Each domain set and domain has a group of tables for every standard in the domain. Each school's data is in its own table; the level of mastery for each standard in the domain is shown for every teacher in the chosen year in each school.
In this example:
- The tables are showing data for "Vocabulary," one of the domains in the "Comprehension" domain set.
- The specific standard being shown is "ELA-Reading.KS2.Y3-4.RC.1.3"
- The top table shows mastery data for that standard for every Year 4 teacher at East Primary School. Each teacher's data shows (in bar graph and numerical/percentage form) the number of that teacher's students who are at Beginning (0–59%), Developing (60–79%), and Secure (80–100%) mastery levels for that standard.
- The number of each teacher's students tested compared to the total is also shown, along with the median mastery level for those students (the mastery percentage is calculated for each of the teachers' students; the median value of those percentages is shown).
- The last row of the table shows the mastery levels for this standard for the entire school network, making it easy to compare each teacher's performance to the overall school network's.
The next table shows the same information for the same standard, but for another school in the school network (Southern Primary). These tables continue to generate until mastery data for all the standards is produced for every teacher in the selected year at the selected schools. - Display Options: Current vs. Projected Mastery (End of School Year)
Every standard has its own table. For each teacher in the chosen year for each school, the current level of mastery for that teacher's students for each standard is shown; beneath it, the projected level of mastery (for the end of the school year) is shown.
In the upper table of this example:
- The table shows data for "Vocabulary," one of the domains in the "Comprehension" domain set.
- The specific standard being shown is "ELA-Reading.KS2.Y3-4.RC.1.3"
- Each teacher in the selected school and year has a row with two levels of data. In the upper level of a class's row, the number of the teacher's students who are currently at Beginning (0–59%), Developing (60–79%), and Secure (80–100%) mastery levels for that standard are shown (in bar graph and numerical/percentage form).
In the lower part of the row, the projected mastery levels for the end of the school year are shown. - The number of students tested compared to the total is also shown, and the median mastery level for the students is also calculated. The same data is estimated for the end-of-year projection.
- The last row of the table shows the current and projected mastery levels for the standard for the entire school, making it easy to compare each teacher's performance to the overall school's.
The lower table shows the same information for another standard ("ELA-Reading.KS2.Y3-4.RL.2.8"). These tables continue to generate until current and projected mastery data for all the standards is produced for every teacher in the selected year at the selected schools.
- Display Options: Current Mastery
- You can change any of the options you have selected and then regenerate the report by selecting Update Report.
- Select the PDF icon at the top of the page or the Print or Save button above the first table in the report to create a PDF of the report. You can also select the Download Data button above the first table in the report to download a CSV (comma-separated values) version of the report that you can open in a spreadsheet program.
- To return to the Reports page, select either Back to Reports or the report icon at the top of the page.
