How to Set a Target
Who can do this with default user permissions?
School network-level administrators, school-level administrators, teachers
School network-level administrators can set targets for all classes and students at all schools. School-level administrators can set targets for all classes and students at their schools. Teachers can set targets for their own classes and students. Other staff cannot view or set targets unless they have been granted more permissions.
Follow these steps:
- On the Set a Target page, use the School , Class , and Students drop-down lists to choose which students to set the target for.
- You can only choose a single school or class at a time; if you only have access to a single school or class, you will not need to make a selection.
- For students, you can use the Select All / Clear All link at the bottom of the drop-down list to tick or un-tick all the students at once.
- You can only set Star targets for classes that have at least one of the following products assigned: Star Early Literacy, Star Maths, and/or Star Reading.
- To set reading practice targets for the quizzes that students take in Accelerated Reader, see Setting Badge and Token Targets for Young Students in the Accelerated Reader Record Book or AR Student Targets for Older Students (Record Book). To set reading certification targets, see Accelerated Reader Certifications (Record Book).
- Next, after "Type of target," use the first drop-down list to choose the target category: Reading or Maths.
- Use the second drop-down list to choose the type of target that you want to set.
These types of targets are available:
- Reading targets
- Maths targets
