Use extended question time limits for students with special needs who need more time to read or answer the test questions. Star tests do not have overall time limits, but each test question has a standard time limit. The standard and extended times vary between products, question types, and the student's year:
- After you select Extended Question Time Limits on the Preferences page, use the Schools , Classes , and Students drop-down lists to choose which students to set the preference for.
- You can only select one school at a time; only the school(s) available to you will be shown in the list. (If you only have access to one school, you will not need to select it.)
- You can only select one class at a time; only the classes available to you will be shown in the list. (If you only have access to one class, you will not need to select it.)
- All of the students in the selected classes will be shown in the Students list. You can tick them one at a time, or you can choose Select All at the bottom to tick/un-tick all of the students at once. (If you only have access to one student, you will not need to select them.)
-
For each student, tick (or un-tick) the Extend question time limit... box(es) after the student's name in the Setting column for each program you want that student to have extended time for.
To set the same preference for all the students shown at the same time, select Set All... , check (or uncheck) the Extend question time limit... box(es) , and then select Apply to All .
-
When you have finished making your changes, select Save Changes to save them (you will see a confirmation message once your changes have been saved). You can also select Undo Changes to undo your changes to the preference setting.
-
Select Back at the top of the page to return to the Preferences page when you are done.
